Privacy Policy
Cold Slate Creamery is a small family shop in Goods & Co. Market, Thunder Bay. We keep this simple: we only ask for what we need to answer you, and we do not sell your information to anyone.

What we collect
We only receive information you type into this site or send us yourself:
- Catering and event enquiries — your name, email, and any phone number, event type, date, guest count and message you choose to include.
- Cold Club sign-ups — your email address, so we can let you know about new flavours and events.
- Customer photo wall — the photo you upload and the caption or first name you attach to it.
- Basic technical information our hosting provider records to keep the site running and secure, such as your browser type and approximate region.
We do not ask for payment details on this site. Purchases happen in person at the counter.
Why we use it
- To reply to your catering or event question.
- To send flavour and event updates if you joined the Cold Club — and nothing else.
- To review and publish photos you submitted to the customer wall.
- To keep the site working, spot abuse, and fix errors.
We do not use your information for advertising profiles, and we never sell or rent it.
Who can see it
Only the people who run the shop. Submissions are stored in our website's database and file storage, which is hosted for us by a service provider on our behalf. That provider stores the data for us and does not use it for its own purposes.
Photos you send us
When you upload a photo to the customer wall you are giving us permission to show it on this site. Please only upload photos you took, and do not upload photos of other people without their okay. Photos of children should only be submitted by a parent or guardian. We review submissions before anything appears publicly, and we can take a photo down any time you ask.
How long we keep things
Catering enquiries are kept while we are working with you and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Cold Club emails are kept until you ask to be removed. Photos stay up until you or we take them down.
Your choices
Email coldslatecreamery@gmail.com any time to see what we hold about you, correct it, unsubscribe from the Cold Club, or have it deleted. We will action it as soon as we reasonably can.
Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) gives you these rights, and you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you are not satisfied with how we handled a request.
Children
This site is meant for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect information from children without a parent or guardian involved. If you believe a child sent us something, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change how we handle information we will update this page and the date at the top.
